Think you’re in pretty good shape? Think you know Omaha?
If you have a mountain bike, a sense of adventure, and a sense of humor, this amazing race is for you. Find two friends who share your passion and get ready for the most fun you've ever had with a race number pinned to your shirt!!

Adventure Omaha, the Ultimate Urban Adventure Race, is starting and finishing in downtown Omaha on June 6, 2009. Form a team of three and be prepared to bike, run, climb, paddle and navigate your way through Omaha while searching for check points. Expect the unexpected (when was the last time you shot a free throw?) with additional team challenges along the way!

Proceeds benefit Activate Omaha and their mission to create awareness, advocacy and excitement about activity and the importance of designing our community for active lifestyles. Visit

While your team is getting a taste of various parts of Omaha on bike and by foot, your family and friends can enjoy themselves downtown at the "TASTE OF OMAHA". The 2009 “TASTE OF OMAHA” will again be located in Omaha’s riverfront parks, showcasing outstanding restaurants with exciting live entertainment daily, with activities on two Riverfront Parks, the Heartland of America Park and Lewis & Clark Landing. This year the annual event will add more entertainment for everyone’s taste on five stages throughout the festival. All stage shows during the 3-day extravaganza are free to attend. Top national entertainers combined with the best popular area bands and musicians will again be continuously performing throughout the festival.

Time: 7:30 A.M. Gear Check/Registration 8:30 A.M. Race Begins

Check-In: Main shelter at Carter Lake. Carter Blvd. & Abbott Drive west of Eppley Airport.

Packet Pickup: Friday, June 5, 5pm – 8pm

Riverfront Place Condos Design Center, 525 Riverfront Plaza

Teams need to make every effort to pick up packets Friday night. There will be refreshments at Riverfront Place. Teams that pick up packets the night before will have much more time to digest in instructions and study the map!

Location: Downtown Omaha

Entry Includes:
Moisture wick shirt, refreshments and the most fun you will ever have with a race number pinned to your shirt!

Divisions:
Black Course, 4 - 6 Hours (3-Person male, female or coed team)
Blue Course, 1 - 2 Hours (3-Person male, female or coed team)

Entry Fee:
Long Course $70 per team member
Short Course $30 per team member
$10 Late Fee (Per Team Member) after May 29

Course will be on city trails, streets and in parks and businesses.

Potential Disciplines: Running, biking, map-reading, kayaking (all necessary gear and life jackets provided), stair climbing, mystery team challenges.

Mandatory Personal Equipment: Mountain bikes ONLY! No cross or road bikes will be allowed! Bike helmet to be worn at all times while biking and/or scootering. Hydration pack with 40 - 100 oz bladder, bike pump or inflation kit, tire patch kit, extra tubes and a sense of humor!

Mandatory Team Equipment: Digital camera or camera phone, bike multi-tool, first aid kit suitable for three people, one cell phone, one notepad and pen, waterproof or zip-loc bag, extra cash (approx. $5). Teamwork!

Recomended Personal Equipment: Water bottles, gloves, sun glasses, energy bars, long sleeve moisture wicking shirt or rain jacket, CO2 inflator, electrolyte tabs, energy replacement drink. Ability to forgive mis-guided teammates!
